I'm new to SpywareBlaster but have used Ad-aware and Spybot for some time. I went for SpywareBlaster for the fact it stops ActiveX components and spyware being installed so it doesnt even get onto my system!

One question I do have though, to be protected, do I need to have SpywareBlaster open or is it still doing he job when its closed down?

Will it also protect me against getting components installed via programs like ICQ - I always thought ICQ was secure but via 1 advert coming through ICQ Lite, I have been reciving ActriveX promots to install Gator, Gain and PrecisionTime!

Thanks in advance for any help

    Hi sparkster :)

    Welcome to Wilders.

As to your first question, SpywareBlaster is not a running app. so all u have to do is enable all protection then check for updates periodically.

    Explained here,

Not to be an echo but straight from Spywareblaster when you try to minimize it.
