I use ESET Smart Security 4, I'm licensed till 2014 on 4 machines.. I would be massively disappointed if that doesn't include an update to ESET Smart Security 5...
Does it? and if so will it automatically update?
    Thanks

You can use your ESS4 license for ESS5 without any problems, that is the ESET policy: you can always use the latest version available of the product you have bought. However you will have to manually install the new version. You can install on top of the ESS4 (overwrite old installation), however it is better to first uninstall ESS4 (you can export your settings if you want to) and then perform a clean installatin of ESS5.

Do you think the settings will be inter-compatible?

I've noticed ESET SS5 is not on the ESET homepage... ESET SS4 is available for download.
Does this mean SS5 is not ready yet?

    Hi,
V5 is in Release Candidate stage (so almost the final version). Go to www.eset.com and you should be seeing it at the top of the page, click the 'Get it now' button.

The release candidate download has been pulled from the website as we prepare for the final release. The good news is this means the beta testing phase is done and the product should be released very soon! I haven't heard any specific dates yet but this part of the process is always good news.

and it will have a workable HIPS module with pre-set rules for average home users? I certainly hope so.

Two beta again? ^^ I hope I don't have to wait for 5 release again to get this to work on my pc, as with v4.
