Will Cortana go the way of Windows Phone?
The signs all suggest that Microsoft is going to cut its losses in the digital assistant market. Smart move.

Microsoft Agents AI characters also got the boot. Back on 98 to XP it looked for a time that it might actually become useful if they took the kiddie cartoon stuff off to focus on more of what worked and worked really well.

Matter of fact you could set up a tethered web cam with the Agent characters that you could program to respond to movement and triggered either an application, or a series of audio voices (if you had the time to piece that all together into a halfway decent setup)

 

If M$ kills cortana.
I'll bet it still lives in the registry ready to be called upon at any time.

 

Cortana still talks to us via pixel manipulation and memory implants at night.
