I have too many saved images on my 3 TB GPT drive. So, if I remove them, and then do a defrag, will the defrag hurt the remaining images?

Great. I asked as I thought that AX64 would fail if you did a defrag.

It will take longer to backup and make a bigger snapshot though, due to the changed sectors.

*Sorry didn't read the question properly. But I'll keep my answer just in case.

Yes, this drive is for backups only as I am backing up my SSD and creating the images on the HDD.

I never defrag partitions that contain data or images. Don´t see the point of it, and in the case of images the files are big, possibly it would be a very long process. Long and unnecessary.

Well, I only thought that removing 14 of my 18 GB Images and then doing a defrag would help. This new system I built is so fast that I do not believe that I would see a difference anyway!
