    Hi notme,

This appears to be a false positive in SpySweeper: http://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=16066
Since you are the second one reporting this I will inform the developer.
You did download SpywareBlaster from one of the official mirrors, right?

    Regards,

    Pieter

thanks for the input, Pieter_Arntz I removed the AppsTraka from my system via spy sweeper, hope it does not effect spywareblaster?
I downloaded spywareblaster via a link on tech tv. I hope that was a legit download? ;)

    Hi newme,

I'm not sure which file was removed, but you may have to install SpywareBlaster again.
If so use one of the links provided here: http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html
just to be on the safe side. Although I can't imagine Tech TV giving you a bad link.

    Regards,

    Pieter

    HI newme,

Here is some more info for you that might save you some headaches. ;)

Spy Sweeper recently on a Win98SE machine says it found

    "WinKeyGenie."

    stating..

This spy is a: System Monitor

System monitors are applications designed to monitor computer activity to various degrees. These programs can capture virtually everything you do on your computer including recording all keystrokes, emails, chat room dialogue, web sites visited, and programs run. System monitors usually run in the background so that you do not know that you are being monitored. The information gathered by the system monitor is stored on your computer in an encrypted log file for later retrieval. Some programs are capable of emailing the log files to another location.

Traditionally, system monitors had to be installed by someone with administrative access to your computer, such as a system administrator or someone that shares your computer. However, there has been a recent wave of system monitoring tools disguised as email attachments or "freeware" software products."

But if you check the path I checked the path, and it takes you here-
    c:\windows\setup1.exe

It is in fact a legit program and is another recent false positive for Spy Sweeper..if you run into that one also.. just ignore it.

I was pointed here as well: http://www.spywareinfoforum.com/index.php?showtopic=16206

Looks like filename recognition to me.

Webroot replied to me stating to [update your definitions for Spy Sweeper] the problem was a false positive and has been addressed in the new definition update.

I ran SpyCop with latest update and SpywareBlaster is not identified as a keylogger. :)
