    Two questions:

    1. How do I check the port for Yahoo?

    2. If I enable port 995, will NOD32 then scan gmail?

    1. In Thunderbird, go to Tools > Account Settings > go to the Server Settings for your Yahoo account.

    2. No

I don't have my Yahoo mail going to Thunderbird, I read Yahoo mail from the My Yahoo page.

If that is so, then I have no idea how NOD32 is stamping it.

That is why I am so confused about this.

I should explain further, I get that NOD32 stamping when receiving mail from people using yahoo mail.

Actually, I did manage to get NOD32 to scan gmail by setting up a gmail account in Thunderbird, set gmail to forward email using POP, and adding port 995 in IMON, and this gives the NOD32 stamping that it checked the message.

It's impossible that simply adding port 955 in the IMON setup would make the email checked by IMON. The thing is the data in secured communication is encrypted so IMON doesn't actually see the email as sucg, just a stream of unrecognizable data.

I agree. I've tried the same thing and NOD32 simply won't scan those e-mail messages. Marcos is right.

I didn't just add the port. As I said above, I changed gmail to forward mail using POP and viewed in Thunderbird.

Now, Marcos may be right, but I received a message to my gmail account with the NOD32 stamping!

So you forwarded your Gmail to a different email?

Yes, Thunderbird, but I didn't like this setup so I went back to original way, viewing gmail on My Yahoo Home Page using gmail preview module--and no POP.

This is peculiar. I've gotten my Outlook 2007/NOD32 V.3 to scan my Gmail when using POP3, even though the connection is SSL.
    NOD32 stamps my Gmail.

I don't know how good their virus scanning is because the Help file says they only scan executables and lists those file extensions, aside from attachments.

Same here but my mail comes through SBC. I'm getting the following appended to each message:

Information from ESET NOD32 Antivirus, version of virus signature database 2931 (20080307)

The message was checked by ESET NOD32 Antivirus.

    part000.txt - is OK
    part001.htm - is OK

I don't recall seeing it previously in Outlook 2007 but then I only rarely use it for email. I use Forte Agent for email and there is no such message appended nor any indication email is scanned by NOD32.

Having Log all objects checked in email setup will cause that result.

**Advanced Setup window (F5) > Email protection > Setup button -> Other....un-checked would cause those items to not be appended**

Thanks Bubba! I was just curious as to why I would get the appended message with Outlook 2007 but not with my other client, Forte Agent (which shows nothing). No big deal either way, just wondering.......

Stranger by the minute. I recently checked my email at gmail but saw no such stamp on any of the emails. I used Firefox instead of IE, FWIW.

Just tried using IE and same deal.....no NOD32 stamp. Of course, anytime I use Outlook I get the stamp, both on sent and received gmail.

Yeah. I didn't get the E-mails scanned. I tried and I tried for weeks. Then suddenly, yesterday I got them scanned and stamped and messages appended, even though I get them via SSL. According to the staff att ESET, this should be impossible.
