Why do you use Tor if an adversary controls many tor nodes?

Wouldn't this compromise your anonymity? Yes you can use torrc to remove the bad nodes, but you still might jump onto a few adversary controlled nodes. I don't know how to edit out bad nodes so I don't use Tor anymore. Could somebody send me the instructions on how to exclude bad tor nodes? Mastering torcc is essential for tor usage.

How do you know which nodes are under an adversary control so you can remove them using torrc file? Can you point us to a reliable source for this kind of information, or is it just a supposition?
