    Hi

may i know which one is your favorite password manager ?

    i tried several password managers

    for now i use keeppass
but it lacks about a serious auto-type
and i did not find good plugins to integrate wit firefox and opera

i tried sticky password 7 , it's not free but it 's really a great password manager
    i don't like online password managers , i don't trust of them

so please can you share about your choice?

    thanks

I'm using KeePass. I know most of the passwords by that I use daily by heart, for others I just copy paste them...

1Password. It works well and is cross-platform and available on mobile. The new version 4, currently in beta, is coming out very soon for Windows and Android (both greatly improved).

I use Lastpass integrated into Webroot, or Lastpass.
On Windows, LastPass helps find insecure passwords stored on your computer so you can store them securely in LastPass and remove the easy access by malicious software. LastPass uses SSL exclusively for data transfer even though the vast majority of data you're sending is already encrypted with 256-bit AES and unusable to both LastPass and any party listening in to the network traffic -- the amount of data is trivial so the extra encryption doesn't hurt. Our policy of never receiving private data that you haven't already locked down with your LastPass master password (which we never receive and will never ask for) radically reduces attack vectors. We use firewalls and best practices to protect the servers and service, but our best line of defense is simply not having access to data even if someone got in. If LastPass can't access it, hackers can't either. A large number of PBKDF2-SHA256 rounds are utilized to create your key, with the ability to increase the number of rounds over time to render brute forcing your master password impossible.

None. Applications that store passwords are clear and obvious targets.

I use Roboform - it has always worked flawlessly for me. I don't use their cloud-based version - so passwords are all stored locally on my computer. It allows me (as would any password manager) to have completely different passwords for each and every website, which I think is important.

A while back, Roboform incurred the wrath of many individuals on this board when they changed their licensing agreement. so you might want to look into that. I'm not sure what the issue was. It seems like a bargain to me - approx $25 to use the software.

I also trust Lastpass. It gives me complex unique passwords for all my sites, protected with multi-factor authentication.

Many are wary of cloud software and that is their right but I see the alternatives as less secure for me. E.G. Copy/paste (clipboard attacks), locally encrypted (Truecrypt is topical at moment!) files (open to screen capture attack) , memorising passwords (less complex passwords and open to keylogging) etc. all have their own issues.

I think if I did not use Lastpass I would use pen & paper, as has been said before you are less likely to get burgled then hacked nowadays.

Now I am curious. What do you mean? I use Keepass auto-type all the time without any serious issues.

I use KeePass auto type on Firefox with no issues
I just tried it with IE and it works fine as well

do you know that you have to click inside the username rectangle
before using the auto type function?

I use 2.26, the full installer

when I create a new entry I add:
    title
    username
    password
    URL

    and leave everything else

I just created an account with 1x.com
and KeePass auto typed with no problems

Roboform is by far the best with integration into browsers, however for its function is quite pricey. I have reduced myself from a Roboform account to KeePass at home and work.
