Which is which again?

I downloaded both SpywareGuard and Spyware Blaster although I have not installed them yet. Am I correct in understanding that one of them removes the spyware from your system, and the other prevents spyware from ever being installed in the first place? I keep forgetting though which is which.

Both, SpywareBlaster & - Guard prevent, not remove already existing spyware
and the like from your computer.
To remove, you'd want to download Ad-Aware & Spybot-SD.

what nat says is true, however spyware blaster works by using a database of
CLSID values that appear in the Registry that are associated with ActiveX objects. This database is always loaded and therefore spyware blaster does not need to be running for you to be protected. Spyware guard, is a memory resident program, which uses both signatures and heuristic identification. Therefore, Spyware guard is another level of defense.
It should be noted, and javacool even mentions it on his site, that Spyware guard is a work in progress, and it may conflict with some programs. However, Javacool is very good with support, should you have a problem.
