Personally i'm using LeechGet .

 

I've been using FreshDownload (on the same page Paul2 linked) and really like it. I think just about anything on that page should be good if it has the features you want and an interface you're comfortable with. That's why I like FreshDownload, it does exactly what I want, the way I want, and not much more

I think the importance or download manager is getting less and less with broadband. Therefore i think the my ideal DM changes from fast to reliabality / function and features as well as low resources.
