    So far i searced highs n lows to find a good compressor, cause i h few to many files i need to back-up, So far i h read n seen about UHARC GUI OR CMD, can someone suggest better.
    Download UHARC here:
    http://mulder.dummwiedeutsch.de/pub/downloads/UHARC_GUI.2007-01-19.zip
    i read 2-3 GB PC GAMES crunched down to 200-350 MB, 600MB files brought down to 54 MB, using UHA compression. How is that possible.
    I tried using UHARC ,but came to find out, it was same like using Winrar, only a lot slower.:argh: :cautious:

    Can someone h any idea or suggest better Compressor.

    thnsk for redirecting: :thumb:
    u should check these http://www.flexbeta.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=1075 , since i tried compressing a 10 MB setup exe, which i guess was already compressed , so my guess is UHARC couldn't compress it more. When i used winrar feature, best performane n UHARC's too, both came pretty close.
    but i h read of 3GB iso file sompressed to 250MB,,,o_O

    FreeArc 0.51 beats WinRAR on efficiency, that is, it compresses better, and takes only slighty longer time to do so, and to decompress.

    EDIT: Seems like WinRAR is still better at compressing media files.

    Thnks for redirecting, the statistics looks impressive but wht is PAQ8PX, i cant find anything in Google by this name.

    I dloaded FreeArc, n did a small test, i tried compressing 12.1 MB . I set the option of FreeArc to strongest encryption n highest compression, but sadly Freearc brought it down to 12.2 n creating an archive increasd by 12.3MB, while the same file by Winrar; setting with best compression, brought it down to 10.1 MB.
    Looks like Winrar won here, hands down

    i had heard of KGB, it will take forever to compress a 1 GB file, i h' KGB,,,
    KGB Archiever 2 Beta doesn't seem to be stable n compresing imp. setup files n other data could be risky...n waste of time. It has AES-256 encryption, which by no other compressing archive has,,,making obviously the best compressing Archiever. But...but.....their has been issues.
    u should check this discussion about UHARC n KGB archive....

    Looks like i'll h to wait for a while::rolleyes:
    Download KGB form here:
