Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware comes in two flavors... Free and Pro. I'm curious to see, of all the MBAM users, how many have purchased a license? If you use MBAM, and you'd like to share your reasons for preferring one flavor and not the other, that would be great. I'd like to restrict the poll to MBAM users only, for obvious reasons.
I use MBAM free on 3 pc's and one laptop. I only have one pro license which I use on my main pc, it's the only one that runs it with almost no real performance drag. I would probably purchase a couple of extra licenses just to support this great project, but wouldn't enable the real-time protection as it feels very heavy on low-end systems.
Malwarebytes is one of my first choices when it comes to the point where I need a second opinion. I run only MBAM on demand, but bought a licens anyway. I bought it mainly to support the hard working guys from malwarebytes, they definitely deserve the support. . Best Regards.
It would appear that there are a few others who think like you, Woodgiant. I purchased a 2nd license when version 1.5 was released, because the program was already very good, but got even better.
I bought the Pro license of MBAM v1.46 but had to run it on demand because it conflicted on bootup with, Avast and Outpost fighting for cpu time. After the release of v1.50 the problem ceased to exist, so now I can run my MBAM PRO real time.
I used to buy a lot of software when I first joined Wilders, and even considering that most of the money I spent hasn't been a good investment I like to think that it might have helped some people in making a living. Nowadays when and If I buy something, it is out respect for the endeavours of a particular company: I've had MBAM for the best of a year, and it has done a superb job in cleaning more than one machine. I'm certainly going to buy a license even though I won't be using it in real time.

I have the paid pro version, I used to use it realtime, but now just on-demand(with scheduled scans and updates though.)
