I previously played with Ubuntu and Mint and downloaded the versions from the homepages and burnt my live CD. When looking at some other options Puppy and Xubuntu, instead of being offered one file for dummies like me, I am given a choice (see attached screenshot). What would I download to burn my live cd?

you should be fine with the Main ISO.

get the md5 text file as well to check your ISO.
