As ClearCloud is soon dead I wonder what DNS you guys use?

I thought about Comodo DNS as i also use CIS but in all the reviews its kinda bad compared to ClearCloud/Norton.

Right now I use OpenDNS.. or should I rather use Norton DNS? I only want malware/phishing protection but no "bad content" filtering.

    Thanks

I'm using Norton. Haven't had any issues... haven't even seen it.

I switched over to Norton from ClearCloud recently. No issues so far. If for some reason ClearCloud gets a reprieve I will switch back.

Nobody can tell you which DNS servers are the fastest unless they share a router with you. Run a DNS benchmark utility such as:

    namebench or DNSBench.

But, the benchmark test results, you obtain, may not be true 12 hours from now or even 12 weeks from now. YMMV

Chrome and Firefox both prefetch DNS addresses anyways so I can't imagine that there's any difference in speed in any practical use.

did those benchmarks.. opendns & norton are pretty much the same (first test norton was fastern, then opendns). clearcloud was way faster than both :(

So i guess its all about dedection rate.. couldn't find any reviews/tests for norton vs opendns :/

Like I said, your browser prefetches DNS anyways so it really shouldn't make any difference.

    Unless someone knows otherwise?

edit: just had a problem with norton - removed

you removed norton or norton removed the problem? :p

the browser prefetches the dns.. yes that means there is no speed difference? but it doesnt effect the security?

    I removed Norton.

No it shouldn't effect security that it prefetches.

so which one are you using now? what problem did u have?

yep as i said.. i don't "care" much about the speed as norton is pretty much the same as opendns + browsers use dns pre fetching :)

No. It will not block any sites.

Instead their security is based on keeping the servers clean.

Norton primary and comodo alternate. According to DNS benchmark, norton had the faster time.

Norton DNS has been tested a lot. The conclusion I've made is that it's the fastest one.
