Its the lightest issue free and safer and effective free AV I found out there.

Use the cloud only version as it's the latest one. Offline version with AVIRA signatures is very outdated and i wouldn't really recommend it. When 2013 version arrives, it will have AVIRA engine by default and will remain up to date (unlike the current 2012 version which is just outdated).

I have been using it for over a month and I really like it, I have it installed on one xp, 5 windows 7 and o2 windows 8 with NO problems, I also have it on 15 client computers and it is running along side avast or mse with no problems at all so why do you say it is junk!

I've never tried this product but now I am interested. So you can run it with another AV like WSA?

Is it required? Or can you run it standalone?

I disagree, I watched it pick up malware the same malware comfirmed by HitmanPro and after removing it,Hitman Pro found nothing afterwards other then tracking cookies.

It looks a very good free av to me.The graphics of the GUI are fantastic and remind me of a walt disney cartoon lol.But apparently it has been suggested that we wait until the new version when the avira signature database is integrated.
Im not sure what it is like on resources but it definately looks a very good added layer.

Trooper, the Kingsoft AV is supposed to be complementary, but can be used standalone. It plays nicely with other security software but there could always be an exception to that I'm sure. I have tried it with both Norton AV 2013 and Bitdefender AV 2013 with no issues. I'm not sure that will be the case with Kingsoft 2013. Has anyone heard anything about 2013 compatibility with other security software?

I would never try to combine it with another internet security suite ..
    KingSoft AV + Comodo firewall 6 (cloud+ quarantine) ?
it should be a perfect combination.

I would use Defense+ in Comodo Firewall. Though I don't see any reason why not to use KAV + CIS complete. They were ok together on my comp for months.
