I assume that your choice depends on your devices, so multiple choices are possible in the survey, which please justify. If you want you can also bring to the attention of the members of the forum also the choices of your family members that may differ from your choices. But only you, registered in the forum, you can vote. In my Android smartphone I prefer to use Opera, I have blocked Chrome. In my W.XP pc I could use a version of Chromium78 but I would never use this browser. In pc W.10 I would never use Microsoft Edge. This pc is also used by my daughter who likes to use Chrome. My choices are: Chrome Microsoft Edge Enjoy. ______________________________________________________________________ [OT] This is a sad day for me. I voted for Safari and Firefox. Safari is an obvious choice in my opinion, as the Windows version was abandoned years ago. As for Firefox, I just prefer Chromium based browsers and it's a browser I've rarely used. I think it's a good browser, but I've always preferred alternatives.
As long as it's possible I will try to stay away from Chrome. I hope that Mozilla doesn't shut down FF.
I will never install any unofficial browser/fork on ANY of my devices. Google can track me all they want I'd rather have them track me than some 3rd party company getting access to my life.
I voted for Chrome and Opera. Firefox has been my browser since the day good ol' Opera ceased to exist.
I initially voted for Chrome but then quickly added Opera, Vivaldi and Safari as I cannot see myself installing them either.
For browsers that I 'will never use on my devices', I selected Chrome, Opera, Safari, Edge and Others. Google Chrome, because I don't like Chrome/Google's privacy practices. Opera, because I don't feel happy with it's current owners. Safari, as I can't imagine owning Apple stuff, just too expensive. Edge, as I don't use Windows, and I won't touch it on Linux. Others, as I don't want Firefox forks or Chromium variants that are slow to update. I still like Firefox in many ways, apart from a few minor details. When ever the need arises, I guess I could use Vivaldi, or perhaps Brave.
Ya that wasn’t clear, was it? I meant that I only use those 2, so none of the rest would ever be used.
But what if browser i.e. vendor would issue an broken update so you are forced to (hopefully temporary) to install another browser or website will not render correctly in some browser you mentioned. I know that OP asked a tricky question, but this makes this thread interesting. When it comes to me I would not install: 1. Opera because I heard it is recently (ca. 2016) owned by some shady company doing suspicious trades 2. Chrome, because it is owned by Google, I don't want a browser linked to my Google Account, and they decided to remove Web Request API for non-enterprise customers. I don't really have an opinion about Microsoft Edge for now.
I really had no bad experiences with Firefox, Brave, Opera (a long time ago), the new Edge, and SeaMonkey. I think they are all great, but Chrome is fast, safe, and I'm familiar with it, I have no reasons to change...
I never say never, of the choices offered I can safely say the use of Opera, Vivaldi or Brave is highly unlikely any system or device I have access to. There are others in the unlikely category but I'll just stick to the listed ones.
@ to all TH. Allow me just one comment. The most hated browser seems to be Opera. But I'm more amazed that Microsoft Edge is more tolerated than Chrome.
I think I've come close to using every browser known to mankind over the years. There are a lot I wouldn't install again. Opera and Maxthon would be near the top of the list.
I agree with this entirely. That said I voted Safari as it is highly unlikely I will ever own an Apple device.
It is a bit amazing. From my own perspective I would not have selected Microsoft Edge even if I had voted, simply because it part of Windows 10. It's definitely not my primary browser for Windows 10 that is for sure. One of the first things that is installed on Windows 10 is my primary browser.
