I think that the best suite has built w/ modules from the same producer.
KIS, BD, AVIRA are very good suites (and NOD32 3.0 when released)
Others suites like ZA, Bullguard has modules from different producers, and IMHO not so powerfull like the first ones.

agreed because they are made to work without conflicts because the same company made them and tested them.

ok, here is my two cents on the matter.

out of the 3 the original poster mentioned, my vote goes to trend micro.

out of all suites, id give my vote to avg security suite...or...norton 2007 suite.

    Hi Everyone :),

I cannot choose a different suite/antivirus than the 3 I mentioned which are Trend Micro, Norton, and McAfee. I already have NOD32 for my antivirus but because I don't see a option that Dell gives me to be able to not have anything preinstalled on my Dell computer when I purchase it, I have to choose between Trend, Norton, or McAfee and I just want to know which one would cause less trouble when I uninstall whichever would be the best one to have Dell preinstall.

I am thinking Trend because I've heard/experienced trouble with McAfee/Norton in the past...

could you ring up dell and ask to not get any av shipped with it?
im sure if you talk to the right person on the right day you will be happy to make sure you dont get any av installed?

You will get one of the three, no matter who you talk to on the phone. Dell lies...

    hmm actually,

now i think of it... you can use a norton 2006 IS serial on the 2007 version i think, if this is the case, choose that.

Yep, Norton now has free upgrades. McAfee too, but it depends on the method of purchase :ninja:

And of course, Trend Micro also has free upgrades.

Gee what a great concept. I wonder if the other apps will pick it up. ;)

Our neighbor just a week ago bought a Dell. It had Norton on the desktop, but she asked that it please not be installed since she preferred AVG. They sent it with the .exe but uninstalled. She just deleted it and downloaded AVG.

I'm not a big fan of Dell, preferring to get my computer built by a local guy that I trust. That way, if something happens, I can talk to a human face to face about the problem. Plus, there's no junk installed that I'll never use or have to uninstall.
