which 2fa or mfa software for windows ?

    which 2fa or mfa software for windows ? can anybody recommend an app or program for 2 factor authentication or multi factor authentication in windows for those times you have your phone handy or no internet connection.

    I found this and Authy is probably the most well known name. WinAuth isn't bad either and is less heavy than Authy.

    BTW, I found this article about Authy, and now I understand why it should be resistant to SIM swapping eventhough it does rely on your mobile phone number. They also give you tips, how to avoid account takeover.

    I can not agree with that. Using a strong password on a secure webpage is better than using SMS 2FA which can be easily used to bypass that. I firmly believe that no 2FA is better than using SMS 2FA.

    2FA do NOT replace any strong password.
    2FA by SMS is not a quite clever idea, thats why 2FA apps exists which are stronger than this.

    you do not need to find lost arguments if you dont like it because you havent been breached yet.

    2FA should mean password plus something, not something instead of password.
    Some companies confuse 2FA with Sms-only auth though i.e. Yahoo
