Mostly into the black hole, that is our home. Otherwise, lots of different types of security software, except av. Mostly software fw's, HIPS, image/backup, so I guess prevention mostly. I tend to buy products just because I like them, rather than for need. So many licenses gathering dust
Most of my money goes in buying books Back To topic : I would choose free imaging software so No worry of prevention, detection and cure
I barely have enough funds for myself man (You know, food, things needed for school etc.) With this i'm talking about money 100% mine and not asking mommy and daddy
I get what I need to do the job. Some is free, some not. A few years ago I spent $69 on an app called FD-ISR and have blessed the day I did, thanks to a thread here at Wilders. So I would have to go with prevention.
I am wrapped around the axle in silly semantics. Ergo, I know not how to vote. To wit: 1- An AV might have detection without prevention (as witness Prevx-free) but prevention without detection? I think not. How could an AV "prevent" a malware unless that AV first "detected" it? 2- A classic HIPS, on the other hand, neither detects nor prevents. Instead, a classic HIPS merely waves a red flag & leaves it up to the user to detect/prevent. E.g., "Process A wants to format your system disk. Allow or deny?"
I get McAfee with my ISP & all of the rest of my various security apps/extensions are freeware or shipped with the OS. So I'm not sure I understand the question.
