    Hi Tiluid,

When i access the folder with my videos the PC blocks.
What are you accessing the folder with? Explorer?

And i have to go to the Task Manager and to close this from there.
What do you have to close in TM?

Then the shell goes out and i have to restars it.
"shell goes out" - what is the "shell"?

But my question is why PC blocks when i access the folder with the videos and i cannot do anything with the files in this folder.
If you answer the above questions, we may have a shot at answering this question.

    Regards - Charles

This is an explorer.exe error and there are heaps of threads on this. Google a bit and see. I was reading a thread only yesterday (somewhere?) where explorer.exe would crash as soon a a file with videos in it was opened. I have read this same problem in several places. Will try to find some links for you.

I access the folder with by pushing "My Computer" icon,... is this explorer?

What do you have to close in TM?
I close the task with the opened folder.

"shell goes out" - what is the "shell"?
These are the taskbar and the icons.

Don't "write-off" other posters....they probably know more than me!!!

    Some threads to try;

Now....I had a similar problem with explorer.exe (not opening 'my videos' but opening ANY folder!!)......lasted for a month or two.....can be caused by a multitude of different things......I think SP2 ended up fixing mine.
Don't forget to google, you'll find heaps...
    Cheers,
    Buck.

After posting that I decided to make sure, and it did not work for me. I checked in the event viewer and it showed that one of the video codecs was causing the problem, blaming ffdshow in my case. Got the latest version and it's fine now.

If you are, by chance, using ffdshow, get the latest version here:
    http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=53761&package_id=59355

Otherwise the next time it crashes on you, go into the control panel > administrative tools and run "event viewer", look for the error and see what it says.

I got this in the Event Viewer about the explorer error:

Hanging application explorer.exe, version 6.0.2900.2180, hang module hungapp, version 0.0.0.0, hang address 0x00000000.
