    Sandboxie is indeed a fantastic program. It took some time to understand how to 'tweak' it, and I know that I still do not use it to its full potential, but for now it suits me well. Nonetheless programs such as Defensewall and Geswall are also topnotch. Either way, all three programs work as they advertise. You will not be disappointed by any of them. The thing I like the most about Sandboxie(of course apart from its good protection) is the fact that one can delete the session in an instant. Everything you might have picked up will be deleted after you close the sandbox.

    I'm thinking simply too, but the SandboxIE guys don't!

    Check oute this - > Defending Against Key-Logger
    One question: I currently have drives A:, C:, D:, E:, F:, G:, so if I want to protect my pc from infected USB flash drives, can I put letters H:, I: etc in Forces Folders?

    Yes, but there's a trick. you must plug an USB (or 2 or 3), so the drive letters appear on the list. Then you can set it to Force those folders.
    After that, it's set and forget.

    If you are comfortable with editing the sandboxie.ini file you can also add the lines directly to it.
    ForceFolder=G
    ForceFolder=H
    ForceFolder=I
    ect....

    Now THAT is the way to use SBIE!
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    I also am a fan of SBIE -- a registered fan, if you will. However, the two security devices that excel over SBIE are...
    1- Regular, periodic imaging to a huge external drive
    2- Common sense
    If everything else fails (including #2), you still have #1. :cool:
    I totally agree, a good clean image will do more for you than any security setup ever will. As far as #2 goes, SBIE will protect you from a failure of #2 in the online world....outside the online world is another matter entirely;)
    Sorry If I sound like a total Noob but I have some very basic questions about Sandboxie.
    1. Is very simple terms, how does it work exactly?
    2. Is is compatible with Windows 64bit and if not is there a comparable program that it is?
    3. If you were to use a p2p program to download something how would Sandboxie benefit you?
    I think Sandboxie is fantastic, user friendly, most computer users could set up (for the basics, browsing, downloading etc.), I use it sometimes with Shadow Defender and always Keyscrambler but I also keep AVG (7.5) and Malwarebytes to check my designated download folders before commiting software/files to my drive.
    Sandboxie has a lively forum which Ronen Tzur (forum name "Tzuk") is very actively involved in, he has his finger right on the pulse and problems are addressed (if possible) without waiting months for a next version. This software is actively developed and refined but not in isolation.
    Sandboxie has lots of pictorial help and anything unusual can be discussed with other forum members.
    1.- Any sandboxed application can do no changes to the real system. It writes files on the sandbox, which you can delete anytime. If the application needs to modify a "real" file, it creates a copy of that file in the sandbox. But that's not the only thing it can do... there are many more options to be even safer (restric execution, restrict internet access, deny access to folders, etc)
    2.- don't know
    3.- You can execute things downloaded inside the sandbox to prevent infections. You can force anything that goes to the downloads folder to start sandboxed.
    Since Sandboxie does not work with Vista 64 bit, is there any other comparable programs out there that do?
    Sandboxie...
    Love the program; hate the nag screen tactic of the unregistered version.
    why not just use Avira and save some memory and speed. Trust me, you will never, ever, benefit from adding the other two.
