What's this error message? V4

I kept getting the error when trying to install the trial of NOD32 "This installation package could not be opened. Contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer package." Now, I have viewed the ESET Knowledge Base, Reinstalled the Windows Installer and I still get it. Why is this? I'm trying NOD32 v3 to see if that works.. why are they .msi and not .exe? It's times like these where I wish it was .exe

Yip I tried all those suggestions, including changing the registry and reinstalling Windows Installer. Hrmm, what's another program that has a .msi extension? A safe well-known program? I tried the v3 of Security Suite and it came up with the same error.

I also tried installing it on another computer and got the same error!

Corrupt file? Don't think so, as I tried v3.

 

Are you logged in with admin account and what OS?
can you download it again but to a different location than you ordinarily use and try and execute from there.
