I have aways used KAV Personal 4.5 (my license is falling due) and BitDefender free as my favourite AV. As in my opinion the free MicroWorld utilities http://www.mwti.net/antivirus/free_utilities.asp
are quite good just like KAV, I think I could use McAffee Viruscan and MicroWorld free instead of KAV + BitDefender free.

    What do you think about?

In my mind it's very good choice, probably better than the second one. Only that disturbs me a bit with McAfee, you need an Explorer browser to update that automaticly.

    Best regards,

I would keep Bitdefender free as a backup scanner, it works so well.

The main AV scanner is your choice. ;)

    Wouldn't YOU like to know?
Note that microworld uses the KAV engine.
if you keep your AV updated, and you have one week of HDD backups ready, then any of the reputed AVs should be good enough for protection. For me, the consideration has always been 95%+ detection rates and same removal rates (NAV would fail to remove many infections after detection) at not much extra cost in resources.

Somehow I posted this in another AV thread by mistake:

I am using MKS_vir as my real time scanner and Extendia AVK single ($9.95) engine as my on demand scanner. My comp runs very robust with MKS as my RTS and and I run scheduled system scans about every other day with AVK.
This is a combo that has worked very well for me.
