I want to see if, with Vista, are less people are using admin or not.

As for me, I use the administrator account created during setup.

As for the "real" admininstator, see this thread.

    Edit: I also disable UAC

Me too with UAC. In XP I used system admin, but there is no reason for me to do it now.
Admin in Vista is in fact a standard user untill he does not press allow in UAC prompts, no?

    Hi,
yeah also using administrator account created during setup.

    edit : have UAC disabled
not knocking it, but there is alot going on with it enabled, ms thinking is more secure these days with even a UAC cue on exes - see cureit.exe with its shield.

I have UAC turned off. I didnt know about the "real" admin mode. Looks like I am running the "fake" admin mode, according to the neowin link. I wonder what the difference is? I mean I can do all the things I can do in full admin mode in XP, I do not recognize this problem quoted from the neowin link:

I never have to choose "Run as administrator". Everything I install, and I install and uninstall alot, installs without [prompt] interruptions from Vista. For example I installed Kaspersky internet security + AV, Prevx1, surely I should get some kind of prompts for such programs at least? If not what can I do to see that I dont have full control of Vista?
Can I have enabled the "real" admin mode without knowing it?

try this, replace notepad.exe with notepad2 or similar program. Vista wont let you even if your admin. thats whats meant by folder/file permissions errors.
