What kind of songs do you like to listen to? You may state why you listen to them, when you usually listen to them and why you like to listen to them.

  2. I would say i like Rock, Pop(some), Jazz, and Country(some). All are good styles. But i'm rather disappointed that there weren't more choices. The list seems rather 'American' in flavor (and i am American). What about all the other fantastic styles? ex. Celtic and Indian ect... I would have liked to see a 'World' music category on the list.

I also think there should be many more, oldies, rap/hip-hop, more divisions of rock (hard rock, oldies rock, etc.), and there should probably be an "other" category as well.

    Hi All, ;)

For me it's Basically Classic Rock! especially '65 to '75 ... about the only time I'm not listening to music is when I catch a little sleep, but I often have musical dreams ... LOL :D

Other genre's I listen to a little, Folk, Metal, Country, Reggae only Bob Marley, Jazz, and Blues.

Is there a reason metal is not included in that list? Metal has nothing to do with rock and roll. Just for your information. Thats why i didnt vote. METAL aka Vader, Slipknot, Cradle of Filth, Fear Factory, Lacuna Coil, Goatwhore.

I'm into the folk/rock thing. But also enjoy a very wide range of other styles. Is metal really a form of music? I kinda thought it was just a bunch of noise and hate all rolled up into one repulsive package.

ROFL! Now that would definitely give it a different sound, Blackspear, but the drums sound would still sound similar. ;) :D

Yes, "metal", at least as it USED to be (AC/DC, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, Metallica and many others), is - or was - a musical genre of its own, with solid roots in rock 'n' roll. Today's "metal", however, you've described aptly.

Besides, what kind of survey is this, anyway? No categories for "Big Band" or "Bagpipes"? :'(

I'm probably revealing what generation I belong to by saying I like Big Band, Classical, Dixie Land Jazz and old ballads as crooned by Michael Finestein. I even enjoy some of the old Ragtime music like Scott Joplin wrote. I like Blue Grass too. Oh yes, I also enjoyed Luciano Pavarotti when he was young and in his prime. I actually like it all except Rock & Rap(ugh!).

I can't say I have, until now. She's very young, ... only 15. Does she sing old standards?
