Fair enough, but I installed it on my dads pc and weeks later he had problems. Found a trojan on there using Avira and Prevx was sat there quiet as a mouse. There was also browser hijacking going on. Used SAS to sort that out. Dumped Prevx and kept Avira. Installed Spywareblaster. That was the day I lost faith in Prevx and it was only a few days later my pc's HDD died, so it was an easy decision for me when I installed the new HDD. I didn't want my pc to end up like my dads pc did. A week or so after that episode he tried getting in his Building Society Account and it said it was frozen and he had to phone them. They asked him if he had trasferred £1800($2800) out of his account, which he hadn't. They got him his money back but whoever hacked him got his account details, all while Prevx sat there doing nothing.

Nothing for nothing but hardcore hackers can bypass just about any security you can imagine. I always work under the premise that if someone wants to hack your account, they will.

Behind router DLink-dir 635 with NAT and SPI inbound protection with settings (in decreasing importance of security)
    - changed passwords,
    - WPA2 encryption with 12 digit password
    - All security features enabled (DoS Overflow, ARP checking, Enhanced Wireless Protection)
    - disabled Remote Admin, Upnp, Wan Ping response
    - added Sunbelt Clearcloud as DNS, enabled DNS relay
    - changed name of the network, default IP address router console
    - added DHCP reservation (same effect as fixed IP's with DHCP ease of use), IP's are reserved on Mac Address of clients
    - limited IP range to 5 IP's currently in use (TV, My Play PC, Laptop Son + Wife plus one wired connection for emergency)
    - Put son's Laptop and his TV in own lan-partition (they can't communicate with Wife's Laptop and my Play PC)
    - Access Control Policies on 4 own IP/MAC combo's based on user profile (e.g. Son is allowed Internet access from 15.00 until 23.00 hours on weekdays, in weekends from 10.00 until 18.00, Wife's Laptop and my Play PC are not allowed internet access from 01.00 through 07.00, only one hour a day access window for trouble shooting wired line)
all other machines (IP addresses) are not allowed access.
    - intrusions are send to an email account which is pushed to my mobile phone

Off line Backup for data (Syncback free) and images (Paragon free) on external disks

    PC security setup

    Play PC (Vista x32 business)
    - windows FW 2-way
    - Safe-admin settings
    - UAC full
    - Norton UAC Tool
    - WinPatrol Plus (default startup and own added registry checking on User startup entries, all other options disabled)

On demand Hitman Pro + A2 free

    Wife's laptop (Windows 7 x32 ultimate)
    - Windows FW 2 way
    - LUA + SRP + ACL
    - PrevX facebook SafeOnline (freebie)

On demand Hitman Pro and A2 free (run elevated)

Son's University Laptop (WIndows 7 x64 Home Premium)
    - Windows FW 2 way
    - Safe-admin settings
    - UAC default (allow user initiated changes)
    - WinPatrol Plus (default startup and own added registry checking on User startup entries, all other options disabled)
    - PrevX facebook SafeOnline (freebie)

On demand Hitmand Hitman Pro, MBAM, A2 Free

Browsing with Iron plus WOT and SiteAdvisor for Chrome and searching with Google, so we have 4 blacklists
    a) Sunbelt Clearcloud beta
    b) WOT for Chrome
    c) Google IP blacklist of search engine
    d) SiteAdvisor for Chrome
    e) [Wife + Son] PrevxSafeOnline IP blacklist + medium level popularity

    Works really light :D

All I have done so far is click the max security setting. Haven't found a clear guide to using EMET yet.

Kernelwars, Avast now has pirate talk.

I've gone to a new set up. Running GesWall Pro along with Avast free. Running really light. I'm feeling that this is pretty solid protection.

I think I finally (for now :D ) found the best security-software setup for me on both my netbook (x32) and desktop (x64).
Same setup, running smooth, light and safe (I hope).
I really think I'll stick to this for now (tried a lot of setups and feel happy with this one: Nod32 4, WinPatrol PLUS + Comodo 5) :argh: ... but I really should say that I will miss the searching for 'the' ideal softwaresecurity setup.

So I hope I can control myself :p

Well I will be redoing my parents machine (my desktop) setup more this weekend. After getting hit by MyWebSearch (hit no install it decided to anyway) last night I figured I need something more then Panda Cloud on it

Current setup Panda Cloud + SuperAntiSpyware (Which removed 995 infections, MyWebSearch sure adds ton's of useless stuff to your PC)

Since this is a old PC with not much ram I will be attempting to go light so it will most likely end up being: Panda + SuperAntiSpyware + Windows Defender

I am kinda still deciding between WD and Ad-Aware for that machine. Ad-Aware may be a little heavy so I feel it will be better with WD.
