    I noticed Kernelwars was from Houston and said Hi. I mentioned my 1000th post in jest. I know it's no big deal. I checked my bank account and my pay stayed the same regardless of how many posts.... Sheesh lighten up ... {o pun intended}

Thanks for clarifying, trjam. I didn't take it as you being a 'smart a##', more like you had a strong opinion. I agree about ESET, and about just running a firewall alone not being enough, but OA++ comes with an AV. If I wind up with OA free or Premium, I'll run something like ESET with it.

Hey justenough, you are running a similar setup as me with Online Armor++, Sandboxie, Mamutu, and MBAM. If you have them configured right, you are covered and don't need to go back to ESET.

Sorry for all of this for you, Mongol: the o meant a 0 in the post's context, or simply add the missing "n" before the o!
Or I should have replaces it myself with a : o ) to better express the sens of this benign reply.

Well I think I will make use of a free nap now.

Four powerful programs, looks like they are working fine together on my computer so far. I have them all pretty much set on default, except for Sandboxie deleting the contents of the sandbox on closing IE8. Any suggestions for configuring them?

Thanks for your reply, dja2k. Some sounding advices.

And, btw, what was also of particular interest and intriguing to me in your setup is this singular OS' tweaking (in relation with the software that you are also running):
EDIT Possibly be an interesting sub thread here entitled "What is your Windows 7 x64 security setup these days?", wouldn't it?

No worries, in hindsight the wording of that little post of mine was rather misleading too. Kinda looked like I was tooting my horn over my post number. Well the world is still spinning so all is well...cheers :)

Well first with OA++, enable "run safer" for all internet apps like Browsers, Email Clients, Messengers, etc. I use Online Armor in Advanced mode and in Firewall options "automatically allow" and "autoconfigure trusted" are disabled which lets me create my own Firewall rules. I use blacklists via Online Armor also. In Sandboxie, I have further rules implemented and use restrictions. Malwarebyte's is in default settings with both IP blocking and Malware Protection enabled. Mamutu has "community alert reduction" disabled and only "rule creation" enabled. That's about it!

I like the way you have your programs configured. Very solid. But what do you mean by "Spyware enabled" in MBAM?

Wrong choice of words, but I fixed it and was referring to Malware Protection being Enabled.

Well, and why would you not want such too, if I can also ask here. Myself, I would even go to the extend of an even more underground sub titlelity like "What is your Widows 7 x64 security setup these days?" if I was allowed!

After screwing around with KAV 2011 the last few days and trying to totally remove it using the Kaspersky removal tool, so I could go back to KAV 2010, I gave up. KAV 2011 was buggy on my machine. A full scan crashed and I could only reboot in safe mode. Tried several times trying to reload KAV 2010 but it would stall during an update or scan. I am now using Emsisoft 5 (I had one of the free one year licenses from back in November). So far everything running good.

    Firewall:
    Linksys Router
DefenseWall Personal Firewall 3.06 (with Windows XP firewall)

    Anti-Virus:
    Emsisoft Anti-Malware 5.0.0.68
    Malwarebytes Anti-Malware 1.46

    Block List:
SpywareBlaster 4.3 (with Ad-Aware custom blocking)

    Resident on Demand Scanners:
    Hitman Pro 3.5.6 Build 110
    Mischel TrojanHunter 5.3 (994)
    Panda Anti-Rootkit 1.08.00
    WinPatrol Plus 18.1.2010.0

    Realtime
    - Online Armor ++ 4.5.0.233 (AV, Firewall, Keylogger, Web Shield, & Prrogram Guard Enabled)
    - Windows Defender (Since Action Center warned me to turn on an Antispyware Program)

    On-Demand Scanner:
    - MBAM 1.46
    - SAS Portable

    Firewall:
    - OA++
-Belkin Wireless Modem Router (At Home)

    Browsers:
    -IE8
    -FireFox (Adblock+)
    -Chrome (Adblock+)

    Seems to be light..
Comments on my setup please. ;)

    Acronis TI V9
    Avira10 Personal on demand
    Chrome

    2Wire Hardware Firewall/Router
Kaspersky Internet Security 2010 - File AntiVirus & Application Control
    Google Chrome

I especially love the application control, though it is a little annoying when a perfectly legit program is blocked and I have to go into the application control and manually set it to trusted.
