I used to use FileZilla in the past but when I noticed that it is very slow in uploading my forums files, I did some reasearch and bought a FlashFXP license and have been pleased with it so far but not 100%, it is faster than FileZilla but not that much faster. It does have a better User Interface though with constant updates from the developer.

When I mean slow FTP transfers, I don't mean the actual speed of the transfer, but since uploading forum files (vBulletin or phpBB for example) have lots of files, the FTP client sometimes pauses for a while after transferring a file even though it is small, it seems to be thinking or something, then it starts transferring fast again... the files are all of small size so I dont know what's up

    I have a 16 mbps down connection / 1 mbps up connection

    What do you guys use?

I use Total Commander build-in feature and don't have separate client installed.

I used to be a big fan of CuteFTP in the back in the days but now I normally use FileZilla as I use several computers. I can't say that I noticed slow speeds with it but never paid that much attention to be honest.

To host an FTP server I use Quick 'n Easy FTP server lite. It's not often I share via FTP but this runs off my USB and it really is quick 'n easy when I need to.

I've been using SmartFTP from the very beginning and have sold many others on it as well. Love the transfer queue. If a download gets interrupted it resumes where it left off. :thumb:
