I don't have preferences. I like everything I am currently using. Security and good performance.

    Geswall free
    OA 3.5 firewall
    Zemana
    SpywareBlaster free
    Acronis11

    That's all I need.

I chose Sandboxie, but along with NOD32 and Online Armor - and SpywareBlaster too.

My most favourite security app, hmmm....
Guess that would have to be the one that I would'nt want to surf the net without,
and that would have to be DefenseWall, no doupt.

The operating system itself. It provides access control, firewalling, program execution control and logging among other things. And doesn't cost extra, nor slow things down any. ;)

Three applications make up the core of my security package on every Windows setup I have, Kerio 2.1.5, Proxomitron, and SSM (free or pro version, depending on the OS). I can't name a favorite when I consider each of them to be equally important. To me, that would be like trying to decide which is more necessary in a car, the engine or the transmission.

  14. Windows itself, with the help of a limited user account.

Failing that, I'll go with Returnil and its executable control tool.

Geswall free. But using it in combination with online armor paid, norman antivirus + antispyware paid and webroot spy sweeper paid, although I haven't paid anything of the aforementioned security apps, all came as a free 1 year promotion.

I voted other, for the most complicated object in the universe: the human brain.

Used properly, this brain is far and away your best defense.

    1.Sandboxie.

2.Returnil and it's anti-executable and file protection mode a close second. Once it becomes 64 bit capable it may be my number one choice for those OSs.

I prefer the disable NIC option the most. Free, fast and foolproof.

    Rising PC Doctor Free
    KeyScrambler Pro
Acronis True Image Enterprise Server Edition (Backup/Recover from Disasters)
Firefox 3.5.1 + Adblock Plus, Flash Block, Flag/Network ID, Cache Safe, CIS Safe
Opera 9.6 + Adsweep.js (still up in the air with that one) as Opera seems to crash or doesn't load Yahoo mail

(Mix of IS Programs in testing right now)

Rising RFW 2009 International Freeware (now blocks local network shares)
Rising RAV 2009 International Freeware (still debating on it)
PC Tools Internet Security 2009 (6.0.0.386 is stable) (Don't use 6.0.1.441 unstable Firefox/Opera crashes system)
Comodo Internet Security 3.10x Firewall. Defense and Antivirus active (FPs on AV though)
I know some of you say the AV is bad in Comodo CIS 3.10 well Avira P Free Edition wasn't any better showing FPs even on the default settings and there wasn't a way to say add to safe list. Thus the program doesn't protect from bad sites with malware. You need CIS for that if can work together.

CIS won't work with RAVINTFREE as Rising reports CIS as trojan even with just the firewall installed.

Good lord, favorite APPLICATION, not arsenal :) Anyway, I'm going through some changes and, with the exception of when I use IE, Sandboxie is no longer my number 1 app. I truly feel Firefox with carefully selected extensions is the one security defense I would refuse to go without. I use AdblockPlus, Noscript, Ghostery, Better Privacy and TACO as my main defense, with WOT as a "guide" to the web.

Using those, I surf un-sandboxed wherever I want and not a thing happens to me.

Yeah I use Better Privacy CS Lite rather the full version either way it blocks, but not bad tracker cookies. PC Tools IS does that for me.. Firefox 3.5.1 is really slow when compared to Opera 9.6. I use both even tweaking both and making Opera go faster seems okay. Some stuff Opera hangs on still where Firefox doesn't. I also use Key Scrambler. Most of what you listed for FF I did try but gets in the way.. I want clean looking browser the FlagFox shows flags for each site but for my local network where I run Web Server and maintain intranet site it shows the network drive for that in FF.

So right now this is what I have...

    For daily protection
PC Tools IS 2009 on everything including client and server OS
    RegProt
Rising PC Doctor (Spyware/Malware/Trojan/Blocker/Cleaner & OS/Office Repair it also has USB protection from infection)
    Geswall

    Internet protection
    Opera 9.6 with Adsweep.js + tweaks
Firefox 3.5.1 with Adblock Plus, Flash Block, Better Privacy, Key Scrambler, FlagFox, ChipperFox, Cache Status, CS Lite + tweaks
    Geswall

    HDD and Network Drive Protection
    Network Drive Manager
    Smart Defrag

    Kaspersky or BitDefender for AV.

ShadowProtect Desktop is also another gem :D
