There's an update to True Image 11 Home called the SafeMedia plugin. What does it do?

It used to be part of the standard download for versions before 11.

The Full version of TI on the boot CD runs in a Linux environment and is supposed to support all of the "supported" devices. Unfortunately, the Linux drivers are sometimes a poor match for some, usually newer, hardware and don't work or there is some quirk in the Linux for that hardware and it won't even load TI under Linux.

The Safe plugin provides a TI version that runs in some DOS type environment and does not support USB, networking. So if your archive is on an internal HD then Safe may work for you if there is a problem with the Full version on the boot CD. Some boards because of the way they support USB will run USB devices under the safemedia. Generally, it is very slow even if it works.

Thank you for that helpful explanation. Fortunately, the TI 11 boot disk supports all my hardware (for now, at least.)
