    Hi,

What is the best firewall that is freeware and how do i configure it? I heard ZA is garbage for running P2P apps because i am running ZA free. Is that true ZA is garbage period?

The best firewall is the one you can understand and manage. Simple as that.

Jetico v1, Kerio 2.1.5, Ghostwall are some options (I'm a user of them) to consider.
You could also try Comodo, Sygate, PC Tools, CHX-I, Filseclab, Sunbelt Kerio (4.xx)

Is it possible to run more then one firewall on one PC? If not would Comodo be the best choice?

Because what is best for one may not be best for another!

It is not recommended. I only use ONE firewall for each PC.
It depends on what you are looking for in a firewall and your networking skills.
Quite often, performance in leaktests is a main factor at deciding which firewall to use.
Because what it's the best for me may not necessarily be the best for you. On the other hand, this type of threads "which is best", "is aaa better than bbb" aren't allowed here at Wilders.

It may be possible, but not advisable. You're asking for conflicts there.
I use Comodo and it works well for me.I don't use P2P programs though,so I can't address that.

One member here who does a lot of P2P swears by Sygate, but it all depends on your ability to config a firewall.

I always run two firewalls. One is CHX-i, another is panda or kerio or sygate.

Type "Comodo Firewall" in the Search button.
There have been quite a few threads about Comodo's firewall in this forum.
You could also get help at the Comodo forum.

One tip is to set the Component Monitor to "Learning" mode.
I didn't find Comodo to be any harder to set up than ZA free.

Keep in mind that I don't use P2P programs so I can't help you with that.

    Hello,
I've been using uber-massive P2P with Sygate for the past 5 years or so...
    Nothing but best performance.

I believe that Comodo Firewall and Outpost are the best ones! Although, as a Greek quote says, "Opinions are like asses (sorry for the word), everyone has one"! What I mean is that you won't know which fits you best until you try it!

Defaults are usually designed to be fairly good and safe. I'd try the default settings until and unless you have some sort of problem or need to change them..
