I have been "messing" around on my PC trying to create a dual boot WindowsXP/Vista system and failed miserably!

    I am using DDS v10 build 2160.

I thought that I had restored my HDD to a single boot WindowsXP system using a previously saved TrueImage file of a working WindowsXP setup.

However, although my system does boot up OK into XP I now get a message "flash-up" at boot time stating thet OODBS cannot be found and that an autocheck cannot be preformed.

I cannot seem to stop this text appearing.

    What can I do?

    Thanks.

You might take a look at this link.

I don't think it has anything to do with OSS or DDS.

Thank you for your reply. The link you posted is very helpful.
I too had O & O Defragmenter installed prior to Diskeeper, obviously uninstalling it before I installed Diskeeper.

I take your point that the message points to an entry that has nothing to do with DDS and agree with you.

I had the same problem this will fix it, open the Windows registry with START / RUN:
    regedit.

    Go to

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\SessionManager

Delete in "Bootexecute" the value "oodbs".

    Thank you for that.

However, I decided to do a complete clean reinstallation of WindowsXP. This time without installing O & O Defrag. I no longer have the message, even after I installed Diskeeper.

    Thanks again.
