    Hi, guys,

TDS found a Positive Identification in an EXE file.

    It found Adware.Catalog.a

    What is Adware.Catalog.a?

I could find it nowhere! Norton AV and Lavasoft AdAware returned "no threats found" on the same EXE file.

Thank you for a great forum!

It's one of these new pests that downloads a mass bundle of adwares and spywares

almost all the different antiviruses/antitrojans call these by different names

    Many thanks, Derek.

    Three things, though:

    1. It was discovered embedded in a 3-years old EXE file (and e-book) that has never been in use and is on my D drive. Not a natural choice for an adware downloader.

    2. NAV and Adaware were unable to identify it. In other words, it is not in their libraries/databases.

    3. Not a single mention of Adware.Catalog.a on Google. This is eerie and nigh impossible.

Have a warm and safe week!

It's possible then it's a false alarm as the adware catalog thingy is a new one taht has only been around for a couple of weeks
send it to submit@diamondcs.com.au with note linking to this thread and they will check it
