    What is the Splash screen for?

    What is the advantage of having it turned on or off?

    It's an ego boost for you if you see the jelaous faces of all other people which might have a yellow or other color splash screen :D

    lol Happy... now APART from making your ego even larger... does it do anything but slow down the loading of NOD32?

    It would be nice to be able to choose a 'quick splash' so you can show folks that you have something better than their yellow product, while not having to wait the (seemingly) AGE that it takes for NOD32 to move past the splash screen... ;)

    Well, u have the option to disable the splash screen! ;)

    NOD32 System Tools->Setup->General->Do not display NOD32 splash-screen at startup.

    The logo is displayed during the time the NOD32 kui loads so generally you cannot make the loading process faster.

    Maybe this should become a comparison thread and we could see Norton's latest as well as Kaspersky, BitDefender, and anybody else's splash screen.

    you can display the logo for a discreet number of ticks - it's possible to calculate discreet seconds very simply - a timer for it's display would require some small amount of processing, and it would probably mean re-writing the splash screen code to multi-thread with the kui loading, but it certainly could be done (make the splash screen display for a shorter period of time).

    Of course, it serves no PRACTICAL purpose...

    My splash pops up for 1 sec before closing again. I think that's fast enough, maybe too fast ;)

    That's probably because your NOD32 version is a youngster and still a bit shy? :eek:
    I'm almost sure if you speak with your baby some nice words it will like you and probably suprise you with 2 or even 3 sec :D

    The splash screen comes for instance during this time when NOD32 tries to update - you can really not speed up this with disabling it.
