What do you make of this?

    I downloaded Arovax's latest version of its antispyware program and ran a scan.
    It picked up a variation of coolwebsearch.
    AVG antispyware never picked it up. Superantispyware never picked it up. Spybot never picked it up. Adaware never picked it up. Zonealarm antispyware and it's Kaspersky engine never picked it up. I don't know what to say about it.

    Maybe it got installed with the download. Wouldn't that be something?

    More than likely a false positive though.

    What did it detect as coolwebsearch variant,

    If possible please list registry values and files that it detected,i'm not sure but if Avorax has a report/log capability you can Copy&Paste info from there :)

    BTW has this PC been infected before with any malware ?

    Do you have the sample(s) and or keys it detected, can you post a scan long here?

    If you use SpywareBlaster, SpyBot or anything else to immunize your PC, Arovax AS reads some of the immunizing kill bits as spyware.
