I am on x64 Win7 laptop. Choise is Prevx paid and Antivir free or other way around.

What do I not get from Prevx paid with x64 that the x32 guys get?

What do I not get from Prevx paid under Win7 that the XP-guys get.

Please describe how/if browsing and mailing has a specific protection (ie SOL?) under x64?

Please explain how remote cleanup will work in real life if I get infected when using Prevx paid? I like the sound of it and would like to know if is what I hope for.

Will you remotely clean up rootkits and keyloggers also?

Is there any extra charge for the remote cleanup?

Has Prevx been tested at AV-comparatives?

I know - alot of Qs - thanks to anyones who helps me with the answers.

    Best Regards

I'll try to answer them as best as I can, but I don't work for Prevx.

What do I not get from Prevx paid with x64 that the x32 guys get?
I think Prevx itself has the same protection on x64, but SafeOnline can't load all of the Clipboard protection and Screengrabber protection on x64.

That would be nothing, on Win7 and Vista Prevx has even better self-protection.

Please describe how/if browsing and mailing has a specific protection (ie SOL?) under x64?
Prevx doesn't check emails but it you execute a malware from a email it gets checked. I explained about SOL already.

I think they use some version of LogMeIn to remotely access your computer and clean it up, and if you don't want that there might be some other ways to help, but that will be of course more difficult.

Will you remotely clean up rootkits and keyloggers also?
If an infection bypasses Prevx they will clean it, no matter what sort of malware it is.

Is there any extra charge for the remote cleanup?
No, it's free, they even guarantee 100% cleanup and if they can't clean it you can get your money back :) That's how it should be, you already pay a company to keep your computer clean with their product and you shouldn't pay them to do something you already paid for in the first place, because they have failed. Luckily enough Prevx understands this. Like if you buy a brand new car it should work, and if it doesn't then the dealer you buy it from will fix it for free and not make you pay even more to repair it, if they did they would have a bad reputation quickly spreading and lots of lawsuits against them. Strangely enough, this is not the same in the computer security industry.

Has Prevx been tested at AV-comparatives?
No, they have been tested by the smaller West Coast Labs and Malware Research Group but not AV-Comparatives.

Thanks to everyone for the answers.

When will the issues be fixed for x64?

Is there a behavioral analyses type of defense in Prevx? If so tell me more about it. Couldnt find it out on PrevX site.

What stops testing at AV Comparatives? Would Prevx want to go there?

    Best Regards

There aren't really "issues" in x64, more so that the architecture of the operating system simply does not allow some functions to take place. You still receive a very large amount of protection from SafeOnline but it cannot protect your screen or clipboard.

Everything in Prevx is based around behaviors :) We don't show specific messages to the end user as that tends to require a technical user to answer prompts but all determinations are based around the behavior of programs.

We're waiting to see what dynamic testing techniques are used by some of the testing organizations but running a scan over a large archive of dormant files is not the way to really test how effective a security program is. We are constantly under realtime testing by WestCoastLabs which uses in-the-wild samples 24/7 to test engines: http://www.prevx.com/certification.asp

It is very strong - it's been constantly attacked by a number of different determined attackers and in .219 currently does not have any means around it.

    Hope that helps! :)

I hope Rivalen doesn't mind me hijacking his/her thread with a question....

Maybe my searching skills are poor, but I can't find Prevx on the WestCoastLabs website. You guys seem to have vanished. What's going on?
