What did today's windows XP update do?

It updated to 2 percent and went away. I restarted but nothing came up after that. What friend's went through but mine seem like it stopped at 2 and its not on the windows update site.

 

The update for windows update went through for mine today but I don't know what that 1 update was for..does anyone know what it is for? and it installed that update during the shut down. But on my other computer, it did not say I have an update so I couldn't install that 1 update on my other computer.

the yellow icon pop up and start to download after some seconds disapeard

i had to use internet explorer to download the patches(hotfix)
can somebody tell me why?
can i fix it?

I had to check MS update for the updates on Wednesday, since I received no notification. MS update is set to notify.

Weird. Did that happen to anyone else ?

 

I don't know about any single update, but I got 19 items in my update today.

 

I got 11 updates today. One of them was the Malicious Software Removal Tool. Normally I don't run XP (been trying out different distros lately...my favorite recently has been Sabayon 5) but I switched back to it today just to update my CloneZilla image. I was slightly surprised by the number though.

 

Only to jump the conspiracy train, I think some updates are there for lowering XP system response a little.
