Just curious. I've run noscript for years (still do). Ive only just recently read about Ghostery. Is it worth having both? Or is it rendundant?

    Thanks.

NoScript is rock solid in every sense, while Ghostery is an industry-supported contraption:

Well, Search Engines don't see every single url you visit, or do they??

This is how I understood it: When you browse a website for the first time after installing AdBan, the Ads which AdBan doesn't have a rule for yet will be displayed initially, but AdBan sends the urls on that page to their server, the server will respond with blocking rules for those particular urls. Next time you visit that page again (most of) the Ads will be blocked.

I haven't used it for long, I don't know if it caches the rules locally, but even if it does, the cache will be still smaller than ABP subscription rules, so fewer rules to check against.

The huge block list is on the server and only those needed will be used locally. You can also hit the 'Report ads' button if some ads aren't blocked so they can check the page and add the rules to their server. But as I said this means they decide what to block.

If AdBan doesn't support custom filters and other subscriptions, it isn't replacing Adblock Plus for me.

Why don't you run AdBan together with Adblock Plus? o_O
Does it have to be either AdBan or Adblock Plus? o_O

I use AdBlock Plus + Privoxy, sort of sharing the burden. With both, I'm in total control. I make my own filters and don't rely on "lists".

Let's see. Someone may come up with a convincing argument to use AdBan fully or in conjunction with some other blocker. I don't like to try out something new!

Search Engines? No, if these URLs are Not their Search Results.
    BUT
    Government
& Police Authorities, ISPs etc. can definitely see ALL the URLs you visit.

No need, because AdblockPlus covers 99.9% of ads, and I block the rest using its custom controls. It would also use more resources, not to mention the possibility of conflicts.

    1) I've been running AdBan and ABP without Conflicts.

    2) Using more Resources with just AdBan and ABP?

    a) You consume ~5% of total RAM (4GB)

    b) When you use two (2) AVs, don't you care for Resources?
    Come on, now.:D :D :D
    Anyway...

    1) Your choice.

    2) That is irrelevant to Firefox resource usage.

    3) Not anymore. I just don't want the browser to be slower.

I think, most of the best add-on extensions was already said here. But it could be that I can help more.

For more Firefox speed - Speed DNS

If you frequently visit Facebook - AntiSocial and No FB Tracking

For more site reputation checking that works side by side with WOT(sometimes WOT are slow or even don't have rating for the site you visit) - Webutation

For virus scanning of sites/links you visit - VTzilla

And I check temperature here with - WeatherBug

It also helps to check your system ram and cpu via Firefox with - System Monitor

And also when it happens I've visited sites w/ foreign language - Quick Translator

I just use Foxdie (Graphite) All-in-One Foxy Suite for firefox as theme, it looks cute but beautiful and simple.
