No news anymore on their website, since 2004.11.18. Weird isn't it ?
I hope their fingerprint database is updated after 2004.11.18.
Sorry, but I won't recommend this one.

It is stocona.com was not updateed, but stocona.ru is all right...
The last virsion is Stocona Antivirus 3.3.
"Stocona Antivirus 3.3 protects computers during any files operations performing, working with electronic documents, mail messages interchange, web-site pages consulting etc. Stocona Antivirus 3.3 technological possibilities provide complex protection of PC and computer networks from malicious programs, hacker attacks and inner security threats.
It’s construction and functionality logic excludes the possibility of recurrent antivirus databases updating for users, necessary for other antivirus programs. "

    Hi, Vlad_666

    Welcome to Wilders.

I not sure I understand what that means, does it mean it stops other AV on a system from updating.

    Take Care,
    TheQuest

I'd never heard about NOD32 before I did a thorough search on Google when I needed a new AV ;)

No! It means that the main priority of Stocona Antivirus 3.3 is behaviour analysis of the programs rather then signatures bases of known viruses and that is why Stocona Antivirus 3.3 does not need self update.

    Wouldn't behaviour-based analysis cause false positives? o_O

And would this method of detecting malware be effective for removing it and cleaning the system of the stuff it leaves behind (like registry entries)? o_O

The number of false positives depends on the behaviour rules which inserted in knowledgebase. For this moment there is behaviour models of file and postal worms in the antivirus knowledgebase which don`t cause false positives. Another malware detected by personal FireWall and system registry monitor which are integrated in antivirus complex. In the nearest future it will be possible to clean the results of malware run (for this moment the antivirus complex can stop malware only).
