Have been following a number of threads on which is the best freeware antimalware scanner but no body mentions Webroot Spy Audit (current version = v4.2.20). Have been using it for a while and it seems very comprehensive as a scanner (do not believe that it cleans) and therefore good as a back up scan it seem pretty good).

    Any thoughts?:)

    Thanks WSFuser...:D

I remember some time ago that Spy Audit was on the product list, but I didn't pay much attention to it at that time :p . Spy Audit seems to go away after Webroot moved to a new site (the current one).

When I change the link slightly to 04 instead of 03, I got this

    http://www.webroot.com/services/spyaudit_04.htm

This might be the old stuff left behind in the old site...

It says: "Quickly scan your PC for spyware - It's free!"

So is Spy Audit a free tool? Something like an online scan but can be executed on the HD?

Spy Audit is free and it is meant to be executed from the hd. its similar to ewido_micro.exe but it wont clean anything. instead itll open up ur broswer and show the results. if u click on the Next button under Remove Spyware Now, itll send u to the shopping cart and spy sweeper will automatically be in the cart.

if u were looking for the link, it is small and not easily visible:
