Does anyone have performance issues with IE11 when the Webroot (v8.0.4.41) Filtering Extension is active?

When opening a Web page, IE11 becomes unresponsive (can't click on links) for a few seconds and then it start working again. Disabling the filtering Extension immediately correct the issue.

Can you tell us the OS as In Win 7 or Win 8.1 x64 or x86 IE11 and the version of the extension 1.0.0.18 or other? Are you sure you have v8.0.4.41 as the latest release in v8.0.4.42!

    Thanks,

    Daniel

I can confirm this as well, using IE11 on Win7 x64, Webroot Filtering Extension 1.0.0.14.

Web pages appear to load OK, but I cannot scroll down or interact with the page in any way for several seconds. Windows reports that the browser extension is slowing navigation down by 0.26 seconds, but it is actually much slower than this.

As reported by magictoaster, disabling the browser extension returns things to normal.

I have not updated to IE11 on my Win 7 laptops but on Win 8.1 IE11 VM's I see no issues so we will see what Joe has to say?

    Thanks,

    Daniel

I had noticed occasional similar behavior.Thought it was adguard causing the problem for me,until I uninstalled adguard and it still happened on occasion. It doesn't happen all the time, just occasionally, usually on sites with embedded video and with scroll bars like the webroot community.

I suggest writing into our support inbox. They should be able to enable some debug flags within the web filtering extension and gather additional log data.

As a thought - do you have EPM enabled in your IE11 installation? It may be worth trying it disabled.

    Thanks!

I'm using Windows 8.1 x64. I'll verify (after work) the exact IE11 and Webroot versions and confirm if EPM state and send the information to support.

    Thanks!
