Arrived, unpackaged and soon as connected to the first system my WD easystore external (for backup storage only) began installing some programs and attempted to install The Western Digital SES easystore driver wdcsam64.sys. I immediately pulled up resources from a google search and forthwith was successful at reformatting the WD External since all the disk drives except one are either Seagate or Toshiba and i didn't need conflicts getting in the way. Resources confirmed it's only a prerequisite install having to do with WD Tools etc which is not needed. Subsequently also yanked the registry entries as well that it added. Reformatted via Windows simple reformat under Disk Management and now is prepped for ANY ntfs system or full disk backups-restores. Apparently that particular WD driver has raised other issues from errors to BSOD with some systems. There was a good flurry of issues raised in certain sites/discussions (even Ask Woody) for specifically Windows 10 where the WD driver mentioned above prevented user's from being able to engage Core Isolation Memory Integrity in Microsoft Defender Apparently affecting Windows 11 as well. Plenty of accurate info was provided on how to unhitch the WD External Drive installed driver and associated registry entries which worked perfectly. I subsequently reformatted the External Drive before actually placing it now in operation and in good order, minus the WD SES Device driver install routine which would take place on every system soon as it was plugged in. Didn't need that. All is well now. A little curve ball easily remedied courtesy user's who encountered issues with it.
