Warning: Get ready for a barrage of users complaining about version 8

With cooperation with PC Pro Magazine, a free (and old) copy of version 8 of TrueImage Personal (now TI Home and at version 11) is being distributed at:

http://www.acronis.co.uk/mag/pcpro/ati8pe

It is being announced in forums, like http://www.fatwallet.com/forums/computers/823691/, and in newsgroups, like alt.comp.freeware. So start expecting a new wave of users coming here asking for help with an old unsupported version.

 

Well, I'm sure many agree that backing away from ATI 11 to an earlier version is a smart move but this could be taking things too far ;-)

 

I’ve already prepared my cut and paste answer to all questions:
"Uninstall Vista and install Windows 98 then try the operation again."

Someone who knows absolutely nothing about ATI has been plugging this on a UK forum I use. I've warned the unsuspecting punters there, but it's falling on stony ground, deaf ears, whatever ...

There won't be a deluge of help pleas though, as they won't know about this place either
