    Hi, I had dotcomtoolbar somehow installed on my computer. After it got installed I got this website findthewebsiteyouneed.com take over my home page. Somehow I managed to get rid of the dotcomtoolbar but I cannot get rid of this website. I ran ad-aware and then spybot. then I ran highjackthis and this is my logfile. Please help me.

    Hello svarughe,

    Run Hijackthis again with all browsers closed and check these items and then on Fix:

    R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page = http://ita/

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [easywww] C:\windows\easywww2.exe
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [redirect] C:\windows\redirect7.exe

    Reboot the computer into safe mode

    Make sure you can view all hidden files and folders

    Find and delete these files/folders:

    C:\WINDOWS\sysupd.exe
    C:\windows\easywww2.exe
    C:\windows\redirect7.exe

    Reboot and run HJT again and post a new log here.

    Hi Taz71498,
    Thanks for the help. I did as you suggested and here is the log got after doing all that. "http://ita" is my workplaces's intranet which i have set as my default home page. After deleting all the files you said, when i ran Hijack This I again got that sysupd file in the log. So i searched for it and found all those files were also in the folder in "c:\windows\prefetch". I deleted it from there and then I found that those had also created back up files in "program files". I deleted those from there also and also I went and deleted the sysupd from registry. Finally this is what I got when I ran Hijack This again. Please let me know if I need to do something else. I highly appreciate your help. :)
