    Hi,

I recently decided to uninstall ShadowProtect 3.5 that I was no longer using on a Vista, wanting to switch to Macrium Reflect.

On this Vista Home Premium PC, I also have Oops Backup (Altaro) running without a glitch since several months.

After removing the license then uninstalling SP 3.5, I rebooted. A few minutes after reboot, OopsBackup started to give me error messages related to VSS saying basically that VSS feature couldn't start.

I reinstalled SP 3.5, and VSS was working fine again. I looked more carefully into what SP installs, and there is a VSS service. It's as if removing it also killed the Windows native version.

Has anyone already encountered this issue ? Is there a fix for this ?

    Thanks.

    Hi Merleone

You might check the Shadowprotect forum on this.
