I will take a look at the Chrome issue soon, thank you for letting me know. Once we integrate the whitelist into VS, it will not be an issue anyway.

The scan with VirusTotal should work, with the exception of drag and drop to the shield in Windows 8 only, and hopefully we can fix this soon. When does the VT scan not work? Please let me know and I will look into it.

It does not work when I get the popup Allow Block Submit to VirusTotal. When I click Submit to VirusTotal, its says it is working, but it does not submit.

Hmmm, there must be something weird going on with Chrome and the default browser settings. We you the user who also had a problem with the Edit Whitelist button not working? I just changed my default browser to Chrome, and both of these feature work in Chrome.

So I guess we will have to see if other users have an issue with Chrome and VS. I really think that for some reason your computer does not realize that Chrome is the default browser. Can you go into Chrome settings and make sure that it is aware that it is your default browser? And maybe even change your default browser to IE temporarily, then go back into Chrome and set it as default? Thank you!

If there's a list I would add Executable Gouvernor, Lockdown Agent, Snapshot Security Agent, Security Vault and I could add more but I'm tired at this hour :p

Those are good names too, thank you. Is there any way to do a poll on wilders?

Great! I use SSD's and my Boot up it 12 to 13 seconds then when I go to Task Manager and I do see the VS processes running even before it shows in the System Tray and on the Desktop so I assume it's protecting during that time?

    TIA,

    Daniel ;)

I believe there needs to also be a company name which is different than the product name. VS is likely not to be the only product offered in the future. Daniel, have you thought of a company name yet?

I've been using Appguard, and VoodooShield together for over a year now. They work great together. Just make VS a trusted publisher, and Power App in Appguard's settings. It may not be needed, but I like to be safe when it comes to possible application conflicts. Yes, I do believe Appguard would prevent specialized killing of VS in most cases. Unless the threat is able to kill Appguard to then I don't believe it would be able to kill VS then. At the very least Appguard contains threats if they are able to run by sandboxing them using policy. In most instances AG will not allow the threat to run.

Appguard uses policy restriction, and VoodooShield uses whitelisting. I'm using AG, VS, and NOD 32 on my Laptop. NOD 32 impacts my system performance at times. Especially during boot. VS, and AG are so light that I can not tell a difference when they are installed, and not installed. I don't think you will find many products that offer the level of protection with such low impact on system performance so why not use them together. Your probably almost as likely to win the power ball here in the United States as to find a threat that can bypass both of them working together.

Has anyone recommended Threat Shield yet? If not then I guess just add that to the poll. It has kind of a ring to it.

I believe CyberShield would be another good one, but there are all kinds of CyberShield sites out there with products. I'm not sure if any of them are copyrighted. I would surprised if none of them were copyrighted, but I will suggest it anyways in case it is not.

I am running 1.25 and there is a pop up saying a new version is available. I think Dan said to ignore it, but don't know if that still applies. Anyway I tried it and got an error message. Will post it if it is wanted

CyberWarrior...I really like the sound of this one! It has an Elite Group type of ring to it's name!

Sorry Dan - no go. If anything it appears slower.

I can load The Bat which should trigger it and it does not. With TB running I can run a program that is blocked when the icon is showing.

I noticed that in Task Manager VS is shown as a background process with no CPU activity. It is only when VS is moved to Apps that the icon is shown and VS becomes active. I do not believe that VS is doing any protection prior to the icon showing.

Hope this gives you some direction.

PS I did follow your instructions by setting it to defaults and enabling my settings and have rebooted several times to prove it.

I am using Win8 64 bit. When I set IE as default, the Edit Whitelist works. When I set the default browser back to Chrome, it does not work. Chrome is aware that it is the default browser.

Probably not initially, but at some point before the shield comes up it is. I always thought it might be a good idea to have several different icons on startup... like

    Initializing
    Registering
    Starting Engine
    Then ON or OFF

I can play around with it a little more, but from what I remember, the different icons flashed so fast that you couldn't read them. Obviously, once we run the engine as a service, it will start super fast.

BTW, when WSA had the little issue with VS, did anyone get a chance to submit it to them? I talked to them to day and they said that the easiest way is to submit it through the software, so I was just curious. Thank you!

You can call me Dan by the way, TH is Daniel ;).

Yeah, the company name is VoodooSoft, LLC. The investors have stacks of paperwork with all of the company info, so we will probably have to keep that, but no one ever hears the name anyway.
