Yes, we started a list of torrent clients, and other P2P clients several pages back. Torrents, and P2P networks are definitely a major source for spreading infections. It is definitely needed. Daniel said he plans on adding them. Feel free to add to the list.

The Bat starts normally with no delay. VS does not appear for 90 secs after reaching the desktop, although Task Manager does show it running.

No change on the speed of the Icon - still takes ~90 secs.

Shortly after I took the following screenshots, I lost the desktop, i.e. nothing showing except the Windows theme. Obviously, some voodoo magic going on. :D Anyhow, after manually shutting down, and starting, I have VoodooShield installed, successfully I think. ;)

After the reboot, I have this directory created on the root C: drive... Can I delete? ...or just leave it there?

Another bug might be when turning from Smart Mode to Training mode, it pops a warning and if I press Yes VS turns back to Smart Mode, and if I press NO, VS turns in training mode but VS gadget is in ON mode.

Later edit, while training, VS turns ON, so it is set to train but VS gadget after 8 min of training turns ON with no notification, even if the training session wasn't complete.

Hi, Thanks for the offer :). Does VS need to be installed or do I only need to register before the end of the offer? I ask because I'm neck deep in configuring SRP (for the first time) but a white list program is very intriguing to me.

Edit: Also, does VS block all types of executable files that are not white listed? Or should I ask how many type of executable files can VS block?

You don't need to have VS installed. Moreover, the 1 year starts from the moment when you activate the license.

Hmmm, very odd. Have you tried the latest version and reset your settings in the Settings / About Screen?

Thank you Solarlynx for answering the first question.

VS should block all executable files that are not whitelisted. Thank you!

No problems to report with this version on Win 7 x64 and it does start faster than 1.09 ever did. :thumb:

Cool, thank you for letting me know! I will fix the 2 bugs from earlier and release it soon. Then I will work on the cmd fix. Then at some point I will work on running the engine as a service, but will be a little while ;). I might take a break for a couple of days after 1.25 is ready.

Fabian and I decided to ask for the other thread to be closed, things were getting a little too heated. Sorry about that Fabian, and anyone who was upset by the conversation. I think a lot of times text doesn't translate well.

I do appreciate your help Fabian, and yes, he did find a way to kill VS! Although, the the virus would have to run Fabians code first that specifically kills VS. So unless someone writes a virus that specifically kills VS right off the bat, you are still protected! But either way this will be fixed asap.

4 of our investors are attorneys, so I have to be very careful what I say...

But I started looking into the kill method that Fabian recommended and noticed something very interesting. I might be overlooking something here, so if I am, please let me know.

Let's just suppose that I was running VS along side another AE that perhaps someone might have suggested uses a better kill method than VS. My question is quite simple, and I am not picking on anyone here... but if VS and another AE are running and I launch unknown executable code to see which AE kills it faster, why does VS usually kill it first, and why is VS detecting the process at all? It is true that VS lets the code run for 1-5ms before it kills it. But if the other AE that uses the better kill method would have prevented the code from executing in the first place, VS never would have seen it, correct? Instead, what I am finding that VS usually kills it first, when VS should not be detecting it at all, since it has to let the code execute for 1-5ms before it can detect and kill it.

What is going on here? I am confused! Someone please help!

I actually did not code the kill method, one of the other developers did. I mainly just do the UI and settings, and simple things. I guess you could say that I am the User Experience developer for VS.

Anyway, I do not want to start a heated discussion, but I would appreciate anyone's help in thinking through this logically.

I just want to make sure that VS has the best kill method possible. The one VS is using now is great, unless a virus specifically targets VS first.

    Please HELP!!!

Yes, he is a cool dude and he has been a lot of help! We had a rough start because of a little misunderstanding in verbiage, but yes, he is a great guy!
