Not a problem Buddy I just thought it was funny! Does your Uninstaller still work for these versions or just install over top again? :D

I have an annoying issue on my other machine...I have 1 admin and 1 lua on xp and I have to register VS on both accounts, is this something that can't be changed?

I installed version 1.23 over 1.22, and that did not help. I will try deleting the folders you have recommended.

I deleted the folders you requested, and that did not work either.

Also, I would recommend that VS protect USB drives by default, and give the user an option to opt out of this protection rather than opt in. If the first storage device they plug in is infected then VS will fail to protect them. VS will allow the plug and play device to run before the user answers to the prompt. The message informing the user they can change this setting at any time under the advanced settings tab is great. I think it said the Advanced Settings Tab.. I can't remember now. If it only said settings tab then it should be listed as Advanced Settings Tab to give the user specific detail where to change this setting. If it said Advanced Settings then all is good :)

You can just install over the top! You can delete the folders I was talking about in post 1850, and it should run perfectly (if you are having any problems). I make changes to the installer from time to time, but I haven't had to make any big changes for awhile. Although I plan to add a few things, like "Completely Remove VS Settings".

I still have not figured the update problem on the server, it is very weird. I thought I was done for the day too ;).

It depends. We will be running the engine as a service soon, and that should take care of it. We will keep this in mind when we are adding this feature!

That is really odd, I triple checked it and it is working great. We will see if anyone else has the problem.

Also, I will activate VS in smart mode first, then prompt the user to see what they want to do... good call ;). Thank you!

Ok great, another thing I noticed is that VS seems to use a bit more ram on xp then 7 atleast on my pc's...when it becomes a service will the ram/cpu usage be the same, more or less?

That is odd... on my 2 systems it dropped 2-3 mb. I think it depends on what else you have running. It seems to act different on different OS's and computers as well. But yeah, when it runs as a service, it will be even better.

    had issues VoodooShield.

    On limited user account (scenario):
ASUS AI Suite II (runs at startup) (needs admin priviledges) :'(

Is it possible to run as admin in a limited user account with Voodooshield?

Hi, it will be soon, as soon as we run the engine as a service. We hope to have that finished within a month or two. The whole purpose of VS is to protect the 90% (actual number) of computers that run as admin, but as soon as we get everything just the way we want it, then we will run the engine as a service. That way VS will work with SUA as well. Right now VS kind of works with SUA, but I would not rely on it. But it works great on admin accounts.

    VoodooShield 1.23 ChangeLog

Completely recoded and streamlined the engine to allow for additional modes and features

Added Protect User Space in Smart Mode (Desktop and Download folders)

Made "Automatically Reactivate" and "Notify me after x minutes if VoodooShield is OFF" optional.

Added "Disable Protection" Mode. VS is not training in this mode.

    Fixed Errors in User Log

Added Disable "Deny by Default" to prompt instead of showing the balloon notification

Added 3 more Custom Programs that Activate VoodooShield in Smart Mode

    Added Prompt on VoodooShield Exit

    Increased balloon notification time

Added Backup Whitelist to the Cloud Option

Made slight changes to the registration screen

Added blacklist support for CScripts and Rundll32

    Reorganized the settings screen

Optimized the "Do Not Whitelist items in the AppData Directories (Temp files, etc.)" option.

Added USB drive support for Smart Mode

Added blocking of .msi in Protect User Space / Smart Mode

Completely recoded the logic that controls the Shield flashing / balloons / prompts so that they make sense

    Among several other little tweaks.

By the way, did you see that the feature you requested is in the new release? Settings / Basic / Deny by default.

Is this a final for now? Until you get the cmd fixed in 1.24? Then next would be to run VS as a service to work better in LUA?

    Thanks,

    Daniel ;)

I think so! It kind of depends on if there are any bugs, or any features that I forgot to add.
