    @Krusty
I did not expect the version to solve my issue. Just thought it was worth trying it, thinking somebody in the forums may suggest.
Nothing to do sitting home waiting to go for a ultra sound. Fasting for 6 hours, no drinking too in a 32 degree day, that is fun, needed something to take my mind off the goodies. :'(

BTW sent Dan the log as you suggested.

Engine selection is kinda not allowed by VT.

Standalone would be good But isn't disabling blacklist scanning kinda same?

Yes, this is the usual amt. of time. Here it took almost 1 hour with VS 354. Maybe the developer can look into a definite cause and effect-- I'm just "glad" it happened now in anticipation of the upcoming Creators Build install.

PS: I wish Wilders would update the smiley-face assortment, I feel like I've used the same 2 or 3 like 10,000 times.

Thank you for letting me know... I tried to download Vivaldi Portable to reproduce the bug, but I could not get it to happen for me.

What OS are you running and can you please send me a link to the same version of Vivaldi that you are using?

BTW, in your instructions, you said "try VS icon"... I am not exactly sure what you mean, can you please elaborate?

Ok, this version should be much better... sometimes these new features take a few days to work out all of the little bugs. Anyway, it should be pretty close to being just right, but if you guys find anything, please let me know and send me your DeveloperServiceLog.log.

BTW, I hope to be able to catch up on the posts and pms soon, thank you guys!

    G'day Dan,

Krusty2.exe did the job! This machine restarted without issue. VS starts super quick now too.

    Awesome work, Mate! :thumb:

Very cool, thank you for letting me know! I have to make one more change... so I removed the installer from the server temporarily... give me a few minutes and I will upload the new one. I will let you know when it is ready... then you probably want to install the final version.

I've just sent you a new log showing a few errors. I don't know their importance but you can check it out anyway.

    Cheers.

    Win 10 64 Pro
    Vivaldi 64 Bit Standalone
    https://downloads.vivaldi.com/stable/Vivaldi.1.7.735.48.x64.exe
When you install Vivaldi, select "Advanced" & select "Standalone Install" in the drop down install options
"Try VS Icon".....I meant, the shield on the desktop....I rightclicked & leftclicked but nothing happened & only sound appeared

Hmmm, yeah, that is exactly what I did earlier, and it worked for me just fine. Can you please try the latest version to see if it is still an issue? Thank you!

No, everything worked as expected, and no Windows FW popup. I am probably going to bed soon, but I will catch up soon.

Yeah, it should automatically toggle to Smart Mode after 10 seconds. Although, I have noticed that if you exit out of VS when it is still in "Boot-Protection Mode", it will think your previous mode was Always ON, and save this setting as Always ON... Instead of what you really wanted it to be. It is a super easy fix... just a small bug.

Tried the latest version And same experience with Vivaldi i.e clicking on VS desktop shield........nothing happens & only sound appears.

Check if you have Vivaldi allowed in Windows FW from any previous installations.

    Thanks for your email.
    Did install VS Krusty2,
The issue persisted after on top installation.
This now only happen after full shut down of the computer. No issue when rebooting without shut down though.
Just a tic slow Windows starting time. Also no interference with WD so far.
    So some improvement is there.
Do you wish for VS dev log?

Just me, but I don't feel comfortable with 3.54 on my machines so will stick with stable and reliable 3.53. I think I'll wait for 3.54Krusty3 (please not) 3.55.
