Cool, thank you... I think that is the same issue that MrGump had... it should be an easy fix. If you get a chance, do you mind sending me your DeveloperLog.log?

    Sorry Dan.

3.18 has just crashed. First time since it was released. Just noticed that it had changed itself to Training Mode. I hadn't done that.

Thank you for explanation. Such approach looks solid though not so convenient. IMHO good whitelist would add more security as a user wouldn't get accustomed to allow everything. If creation of a comprehensive whitelist demands a lot of effort you prefer to avoid then it's fine.

    Cheers!

I see what you are saying, but VS trains very quickly and really should not block that many items. A few people have told me that they actually like to see VS block something every now and then, that way they know it is doing something ;). So I think we need to find a good balance between the two.

Actually, I am not sure how I forgot this, but yeah, we do have 2 global whitelists. The first one is called Default Processes, and these are basically the clean / safe files from the VoodooAi training data set, which is basically every file from every version of Windows since XP, and most versions of MS Office. I am sure I did not get every file, but most are included. This is already implemented, so VS will auto allow these files, as long as they are not spawned by a web app, or something else like that. We also have a new global whitelist that is not implemented yet that is called Trusted Processes. This will be an optional feature that users can enable, and basically it will auto allow standard, common files that have super low VoodooAi scores and do not have any blacklist hits. I just have not figured out exactly how to implement this safely yet ;). So I think the Trusted Processes feature is similar to what you are suggesting, and hopefully we can implement that soon. Thank you!

Cool, thank you! BTW, keep in mind that you can right click on VS, then choose Take Snapshot. After VS takes a quick snapshot, it will ask you if you want to take an Advanced Snapshot... if you do this, it will whitelist pretty much everything you have used on your computer in the last few months. It is a little used feature that I always forget to tell people about ;).

@Djigi If you right click on the VS icon on the system tray, there is a Take Snapshot option. After it takes a snapshop, VS gives the option to take an advanced snapshot it you want.

I did that (check my previous post).
BTW: it's free version of VS (not activated).

Ah, there you go. Maybe send Dan an email, as he has offered Pro licenses in this thread to wilderssecurity forum members. support@voodooshield.com

Thanks a lot, actually after registration VS suggested me this.

I unchecked "Enable balloon notifications and user prompts". But anyway got this popup:
    Capture.PNG

    How to remove that?

I have licence but my VS is (at the moment) installed in shadow mode by Shadow defender and I don't know if I can activate multiple (unlimited) times with one licence on the same machine?

Thanks Krusty and Roger! Djigi... you do not have a Pro license? Just shoot me an email and I will set that up for you (support@voodooshield.com). If anyone else needs one as well, just let me know.

It's cool either way, wilders users have at least 10 licenses, if you need more, just let me know.

That's 10 PC's in total right? So if you stop using it on one system just remove the PC from the VoodooShield online console then put it on another PC.

    This is an Activated VS.

Thank you... I received your log, but unfortunately I did not find any exceptions in it, so I need to find out some more info if that's cool. In your original post, you said "3.18 has just crashed. First time since it was released. Just noticed that it had changed itself to Training Mode. I hadn't done that." Can you please describe a little more what happened when it crashed, and what you were doing when it crashed? As far as I know, there are only 2 outstanding bugs... please let me know if either of these describe your issue:

    1. A few users will experience the VS gui freeze when they right click on the desktop shield gadget... this mainly happens when VS has been running for a couple of days continuously. This issue is not yet resolved, but I think I am getting close. This is a tough one because there is very, very little info for me to go by. BTW, if this happens to anyone and you look in the task manager, can you please let me know if the memory usage is super high? I think this might be the issue!!!

    2. The other issue is when the user is in settings and clicks on the User Log tab, VS will crash. I should have this fixed today, for the next version.

    Thank you!
